CFC 28

Yes! A Challenge! My first blog entry after neglecting this dusty blog for ~2 months! While i disappear from blogland, I did created some cards/tags for my friends and family.

I must admit that tags have been my new found love! It is easier to make and recipients can keep them as bookmark (if I didn’t accidentally add too many embellishments *wink*). So when I come across this week’s CAS-ual Fridays challenge that asked us to create a simple tag, I simply can’t say no!

… and here’s my take:

I am really inspired by Kryssi‘s take on this challenge. Thus I made a double tag as well! The sentiment ‘Warm Wishes’ is actually stamped on the second tag. As it is supposed to be a clean and simple challenge, I try to keep things simple. The size of this tag is 2.5″ x 4″.

Did you notice the lovely butterfly?! Oh, I LOVE this butterfly punch so much! Have been eyeing it for some time and finally I got the chance to buy it! Yaaaaaahoo! This is my first project using the punch.

I really enjoy making this tag and hope you like it!

I’M BACK!!! …… for a short while =)

OH MY OH MY!!! Time really flies! It’s been more than a month since I upload my blog. I’m surprised (and touched) to notice that there are still people coming to this blog even I have no new updates since ages ago. Thank you people for still visiting here.

My day job (that has been extended to day and night job now) is like a roller coaster ride. Sometimes it is slow enough to let you admire the scenery around. Sometimes it is teeth clenching fast-and-furious that you can hardly breathe. And before you realize it is slowing down again. But unlike a ride, this has no end (unless I quit of course). Anyway, aren’t these ups and downs part of our life? As much as I would like to complain of my lack of personal time, I am grateful for the chance to learn and contribute to a great team. Not too bad I guess.

It has been very unproductive of my crafty side these few weeks. Not a single update. I know… So I would like to make up with these 3 cards that I made. Well, not really zero productivity at least *wink*

First, a very simple birthday card (for my ‘platinum’ customer ;p).

Second, a card for a friend that has left to UK to further study. One more year till we get to see her again…

Last, a farewell card (also for my ‘platinum’ and only customer! Haha!)

Okay, guess that’s all I have this time round.

Till we meet again…..

CASE Study Anniversary Blog Hop & Wee Memories Challenge #63

Happy First Anniversary to CASE Study!! In order to celebrate their anniversary, the design team is having a blog hop. We get to hop from blogs to blogs of their past and current DT. You can’t believe how much inspiration and fun I had during the hop. Come join in the fun if you have time!

This week, we get to CASE any card that inspired us along the hop.  I chose to CASE a beautiful card from very very talented Cristina. Cristina’s work has given me a lot of ideas and inspiration. I really admire her full of creativity CAS style. And she was just crowned as 2011 Gallery Idol! Awesome right?! She truly deserves this title. Okay, I sound like a small fan now *wink*, let’s get back to the card.

So here’s the card of Cristina that I chose to CASE:

and here’s my take:

My apology for the bad photo quality. I stamped multiple owl images using different ink colors. I embellished the card in the same way using ribbon and buttons. This card will also enter for Wee Memories Challenge #63 where we need to play with at least 4 colors in our projects. This is pretty easy as I stamped the owls in 5 colors =D

Thank you for dropping by and hope you like my card!

CASE Study Challenge #50

Hello! Today I will share a card that I made to enter for CASE Study Challenge #50. This is the card for your inspiration.

Wow! I totally agree that this card will definitely give your mojo a kick! I determined to play with this challenge the moment I saw this beautiful card. The DT also came up with really awesome designs. Now here’s my take for this challenge.

I followed the layout of Dawn’s card. I still own a limited number of stamp sets and cardmaking tools at the moment. So how do we color the stamped images when you don’t have any copic marker or distress ink? I opt for old-school color pencils! =) Yes, I still keep them from my school days till now and they’re still in good condition.

A closer look at the flowers. I added stickles to the center of the flowers.

What do you think? I hope they look fine to you. Until I filled up my piggy bank to buy craft supplies, guess I need to stick to color pencils for the time being. Hope you like my card!

Button Card

I have another card that I want to share with you today. This card will enter for Less is More Challenge #25 and CASE Study Challenge #49. Recipe for LIM Challenge this week is Button or Ribbon and I opt for buttons! Here’s the inspiration card from CASE Study this week. Such a beautiful card!

Now here is my take for the challenges:

A simple card with lots of white space. I used purple, pink and white cardstock to make this card. Played with Basic Grey stamp and used threaded white and red buttons as the flower. Hope you like my card.

May you have a great week ahead! Cheers!

Hazy Sunday

Hello all. In a blink of an eye it’s Sunday again! In Penang, the weather is not that good these few days. The sky is covered with haze most of the time. Hope that the haze will be cleared soon.

Mojo Monday is celebrating their 200th sketch challenge. I have created a card based on their latest sketch:

and here’s my take:

I played with the stitches stamp I just bought. Turns out to look quite real right? What do you think? Hope you like my card!

It All Ends…..

This is it. The memories, laughter, tears….

We grow up together with the characters. It’s been part of my high school memory, college memory…

Despite the fact that I like the books more than the movies, I really like how the movie visualize every scene in the books, especially Hogwarts. I believe every fan used to secretly wish that they receive the offer letter to Hogwarts and finally can learn MAGIC in this cool place *wink*.

But now it all has come to an end….. Thanks for the memories =)

Clean and Simple!

Hi there! This is my second post of the day. Please click here for the first post.

Clean and Simple or CAS is always my favorite style. Love the clean yet simply elegant design. So I today I have a CAS card to share with all of you. This card will enter for “Less is More” Week 24 Challenge and Wee Memories Challenge #62.

The theme of Less is More challenge this week is Circles while Wee Memories is having a CAS challenge. I use minimum embellishment and no distressing ink to create the CAS look. Can you see that I used many many circles in this card?! :D I cut out small circles (I don’t have a circle punch :( ) and adhere them to a big circle to create a scalloped edge look.

Hope you like my card and have a nice day!

Crafty Sunday

Hello all! Hope you had a great weekend! It’s the beginning of a new week and let’s hope for more great things to come!

As much as I hope I can craft all day, I need a job to pay the bills (and buy my craft supplies *grin*) . So I always craft during weekends. So today I have a new card to share that I made yesterday, based on CPS sketch #227.

I modify the sketch a little. I used MME beautiful papers for the background. Mat the edge-punched papers to create layering effect. Stamp the frame and sentiment on a white cardstock. Add 4 cute threaded buttons for a finishing touch.

I notice that I am not that good with colors. I always come out with a card with weird color combo. The patterned papers are really lovely, but I tend to match them with not-so-matching papers. Guess I need more practices.

I will have another post on a CAS card, so…. stay tuned!

VLV July Week 2 and PDCC89

Hello all! How are you doing? We had a long weekend last week here in Penang for celebrating the Governor’s birthday. My mum and I visited my grandpa and grandma. Although they’re in their seventies, both of them are still in good health =) Had a good time catching up and enjoy my aunt’s yummy cooking! Quite a relaxing weekend.

As usual I have a card to share with you. Ta da!

I used Maya Road butterfly chipboard and decorate it with doilies patterned paper. Really love how chipboards add dimension and interest on paper projects. Don’t you think they’re lovely? *wink*

I play with Vivala Verve sketch challenge (my first time play with this challenge) and The Play Date Cafe color challenge.

Hope you have a great week ahead!
